Blue Ring Pendant
The Blue Ring Pendant is the perfect way to wear minimalist wearable art.
This streamlined ring shape is created by hand on the potters wheel. The clay utilized originates from an Alberta clay company.
Creating this ceramic piece involves several steps. First the piece is made ("thrown") on the potters wheel. Next the piece is left to dry, followed by the a refining of the edges. The ring then goes into the kiln for its first firing. After being fired, the piece is glazed by hand, building up three layers of glaze. The piece then returns to the kiln for a second firing, where the glaze melts, creating a smooth glassy surface on the clay. From start to finish, the process occurs over a span of weeks.
A black leather lace adds the finishing touch to the ceramic Blue Ring Pendant.
